VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — There’s a Ukrainian school in Hampton Roads, and it offers insight into Ukrainian culture while raising money for their home country. This, while Ukraine is at war with Russia.
According to the Ukrainian Tidewater School website, they offer a Saturday school for children in Hampton Roads who are toddlers and older. It was created by Ukrainian Americans with support from the Ukrainian Cultural Association Tidewater.
It strives to promote and preserve the language and culture of Ukraine by offering courses in Ukrainian language, history, crafts, music and dance. Its mission is to teach and guide a new generation of Ukrainian Americans through classes and special events.
Ukraine’s Tidewater School in Hampton Roads has announced what it calls an urgent fundraiser to support Ukraine in its darkest hour in the face of Russian aggression.
