Stoughton Parks & Recreation Department’s new star artist Rhiannon Gurley is expected to host two events this weekend.
Mom’s Night Out: Inner Diva Collage
7 to 9 p.m., Friday, January 7
Held at the Mershon Cider House, 124 W. Main St.
Join other moms who need a break for a relaxing evening without the kids. Relax and make new friends. Drinks are welcome. Aprons and supplies are provided. $ 25 per person.
Adult + child painting: Lego portrait
3 pm-4:30pm, Sunday January 9
Held at the Stoughton Area Youth Center, 567 E. Main St.
Have you ever thought about what kind of LEGO you would be? Take advantage of this artistic bonding experience for ages 7 and up. A LEGO character will be custom drawn so you can add your personality as well. Aprons and supplies are provided. A fee of $ 40 covers participation for 1 adult and 1 child. Any additional participant costs $ 20 each.
About the Instructor: Rhiannon Gurley holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from Northern Illinois University. As an award-winning artist, Gurley has served as an art director, teaching, and creating art study programs for K-12 public schools, including art camps for Montessori and non-profit youth-oriented organizations. She was also an assistant graphic design instructor in college, worked for the town of Middleton as an arts-based community development coordinator, and founded Our Vibrant Community.
