The DuBard School for Language Disorders at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host an open house on Thursday, May 19 from 5-7 p.m. in honor of the 60and anniversary.

Dr. Dubard with the first three studentsAlumni and their parents, community supporters and members of the general public are welcome. “We look forward to celebrating our 60-year heritage and showing Pine Belt all that we offer at DuBard School,” said Missy Schraeder, Principal of DuBard School. “We are thrilled to partner with the Area Development Partnership of Greater Hattiesburg to make this a community-wide event. »

Open House attendees will enjoy exhibits and demonstrations about the school’s enrollment program, outreach services, and professional development. School visits will be organized and staff will be available for a welcome reception immediately afterwards.

The DuBard School for Language Disorders is located on the Hattiesburg campus of the University of Southern Mississippi at 100 Kay James Drive. Public parking will be available for visitors to the open days.


About the DuBard School for Language Disorders

The DuBard School for Language Disorders was established in 1962 and is a clinical division of the Southern Miss School of Speech and Hearing Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. The school welcomes children with severe language/speech impairments including dyslexia written language impairment/specific learning disabilities and/or hearing impairments and provides counseling and counseling parents and families of children. The school is an internship location for university students majoring in speech therapy, audiology, or education of the deaf. DuBard School for Language Disorders is an agency of United Way.
