Family background: Mother of two children and grandmother of four grandchildren

Interests: I have always been interested in the integration of French-language culture into the curriculum and pedagogy, and the contribution of bilingualism to student success and the vitality of French-language schools.

As a school trustee, I would foster partnerships with professional learning communities to implement innovative and creative strategies to improve student success and achievement, more specifically in literacy and numeracy. To reduce achievement gaps, it is also important to support approaches that contribute to equity and inclusion. I also look forward to pursuing recent findings on organizational models that support student success and the transition from elementary to high school or the workplace and provide new evidence-based pathways for students in the post-pandemic era.

I therefore look forward to working in a culturally appropriate school environment that emphasizes the importance of diversity — for example, teaching strategies that facilitate the development of oral communication with diverse learners, the integration of immigrants in French-language schools, inclusive programs and resources that contribute to student learning, success and well-being.

Professional background: Teacher and director

Research-based support documents aimed at providing teachers with strategies for transmitting culture and developing students’ literacy and numeracy skills in French-language schools.

Leadership skills within the French Language Policy and Programs Branch of the Ministry of Education, the Ontario College of Teachers and the Viamonde School Board in collaboration with various groups of researchers, leaders professionals and parents in order to contribute to student success.

Fundamental principle: The integration of culture into the curriculum and pedagogy contributes to the transmission of French-language culture, which in turn promotes identity building and student success. The transmission of culture also involves the transmission of Francophone cultural heritage, but also the celebration of inviting diversity.

Francophones of all origins to contribute to the development of the Ontario Francophonie.

Three problems to solve as a school counselor:
1. Close achievement gaps for all students, including those with special education needs.
2. Equity and inclusion for all students by providing access to new technologies, evidence-based pathways, and tutoring programs that take place in a classroom and/or after school hours offered free to students.
3. Mental health services for students and staff increasing the number of school social workers.
