The Ao Senden Literature Council (ASLB) held its 6th Arangtet Exam Convocation Program on July 6th at Ao Senden Conference Hall, Mokokchung. A total of 93 students graduated from three different courses including Ao Graduate Diploma, Arangtet Certificate Course and Arangtet Diploma Course. Arangtet is the ASLB’s Ao proficiency exam.

The ASLB also honored 11 individuals who have contributed to the growth and development of Ao language and literature through various platforms, including Pasmashree T Senka Ao who was also present at the Convocation as a keynote speaker.

In his speech, he gave an exposition on the history of the growth and development of the Ao language and said that efforts should be made to make the Ao language part of the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution.

He also urged graduating students not only to hold the degree and be satisfied, but to work and contribute to the growth of the Ao language.

A book ‘Ao Oshi Tensenyim’ written by T Senka Ao was also released at the same event by Reverend Longri.

Repabenla spoke on behalf of the graduate students while Chubawati Longchar also gave a short exhortation where he encouraged the graduate students to not only focus on getting jobs as Ao language teachers but also contribute to the development of the Ao language.

The graduates were presented with their certificates by Dr. L Temjen Jamir, President of the ASLB and by the President, Ao Senden. Previously, the program was chaired by Toshisangla, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr Medemmayang and the vote of thanks delivered by S Wati Ozukum.
